Update: Nemo has seen a technician at BionicPets and has been fitted for a prosthetic. We should be able to get his extended leg picked up by mid October. If you are interested in adopting our little man you need to be able, occasionaly, to provide transport to and from BionicPets as the prosthetics will need to be adjusted or replaced as he grows. All expenses have already been paid for by our rescue. Nemo was found hopping along on one of our local county roads. Since nobody came for him we assume that he was dumped because of his deformed leg. This boy is one happy camper and his deformed leg does not slow him down a bit. We consulted with an orthopedic specialist and were told that there could not much be done except of amputation which is out of the question since he is using the leg to balance himself. We will consult with Bionicpets for a prosthetic leg to help him balance more evenly and to take the pressure off his other legs. So what do we know about this little man: > Nemo absolutely loves people and has no fears > Nemo loves children but can be a wild child. The adopter needs to be able to keep his enthusiasm under control. > Nemo is super playful and will run high speed around the house > Nemo is a typical puppy and is doing well learning learning how to be a well mannered puppy > Nemo is doing great with dogs and cats alike > Nemo is pretty much potty trained but he will need to be able to go outside on a regular basis to keep up with his potty schedule. > Nemo is walking nicely on a leash > Nemo is a great passenger in the car. > And yes, Nemo does calm down and loves to take a nap, in fact he loves to snuggle! Nemo is a very active little guy and stairs are no problem for him.
