Bobbie's Pit Bull Rescue & Sanctuary

     Hi! My name is JuneBug also known as JunieBug, LoveBug, LadyBug. But most affectionately known as “BUG” to my closest friends.  My mama was a beautiful red Pibble mix and my daddy was a Tree Walking Coonhound Pibble mix. My foster parents believe I come from the deeper end of my mama’s gene pool!  I was born on May 4^th, 2022, so, I’m almost 3 months old now. You can see pictures of me, my brother Lucca and my current roommates here on my webpage. We are really good friends and they have taught me a lot of good things and prolly some not so good things! I’m a shy wall flower kinda girl. But I’ve been known to bust it loose when the mood strikes me. My before dinner zoomies l brings out my A-Game!  Did I mention I’m very food motivated? I love leash walks outside. I learned from my brother to stop and smell the roses so like him, I’ll walk about 10 feet and then just sit and watch the world go by, get up and do it again. I love rolling around in the grass and tasting outdoor cuisine…grass, plants, flowers, sticks, mulch.  We also have cats here so, I am learning to be a ‘respectful.’ I am curious but they spit and hiss and have pointy things so, like under COVID restrictions, I keep a good 6 feet of distance between me and them!  I am a quick learner that way. We do lots of training and get rewarded with treats. So I’m getting pretty good at listening as long as it’s on my terms and involves treats. Some of my repertoire includes, Bed Time, In Your Room, Sit, Focus, Touch, Shake, Leave It, Drop, Find It, Kisses, Stay and Down. All of these are a work in progress and mostly depends on my mood at the time, interference from Brother Lucca and of course the kind of treats in Foster Mama’s hand. I have been working on other stuff but these are my specialties right now. Touch and Sit are my favorites. I will do all of it but, you better be bringing the treats or I just don’t have time for dat!  I love to meet new people, big and small…especially small. The lady next door is my favorite, so is the grass in her yard!

     Now for the ‘dark side’ of puppyhood. Foster Mama says my potty training skills are pretty good for my age. I can almost pee and poop on command. First thing in the morning and last thing before bedtime, I always go potty outside, unless it’s raining. Not a big fan of the rain but I will put on my Big Girl britches and get out there to take care of business.  During the day, I will sit at the backdoor and whine to go out. If that doesn’t get her attention, I will poke Foster Mama in the back of her legs to let her know it’s time to go! But still sometimes during the day, a puppy gets sidetracked by playtime with friends, kitty wrangling, naptime, stuff going on outside and all those other things puppies get distracted with. But we go outside as soon as my eyes open and every couple hours during the day so, I am making good progress with it.  Foster Mama says I’m a “solid 8 on a 10 point scale” so things are looking pretty good in the potty training department. I am also teething as babies do. Foster Parents are trying to teach me “Kisses” not bites…another work in progress. Foster Mama says I need to try harder…so I am! Some things just take time!

     I’m looking for a leisurely lifestyle. I love being outside, love playing in the kiddie pool and chasing the water hose with my bestie Champ but, I can nap on the soft couch for hours, too.  My bucket list includes things like hiking, long walks in the woods to exercise my hound nose and maybe learning to swim.
