Bobbie's Pit Bull Rescue & Sanctuary

Lucca #Paducca is a typical 7 month old hound puppy. His daddy is a Treeing Walker Coonhound and his mama is a Pit Bull mix. He comes from the deeper end of the hound gene pool if you can’t tell.  He is a big boy now at 7 months old and about 65 pounds. He will be a bigger boy as he probably has another year or so of growing to do.

Lucca is a very handsome pup with an electric smile and googly eyes. He uses both to win you over and get out of trouble or get what he wants.

As most hounds do, he loves following his nose through the great outdoors and is becoming less sensitized to loud noises. He walks well on leash. He has honed his watchdog skills by alerting his foster family to the foxes, deer, squirrels and anything else that ventures into the backyard.

His most endearing feature is cuddle time on the couch. He walks over, sits down, gives that googly eye look as if to ask for permission. But before permission can be given, he buries his head in your lap, turns that head upside down and gives you the biggest grin with all his pearly whites!

Lucca is very food motivated and that has been helpful with obedience training. He will now sit and wait with an OK release in his crate for meals. Other voice/hand commands include Sit, Touch, Focus, Shake, Down, Smile and a few others with varying degrees of success.

Being highly food motivated, he must supervise all meal prep. If anyone is in the kitchen, Lucca Paducca is in the kitchen, too. There is no such thing as a 5-Second Rule in a home with a 3-Second pup.

Lucca loves meeting new people, including kids. He goes to daycare and is great with the staff and the dogs. He lives with a cat but has not really been acclimated to a daily routine involving the cat.  His house training is improving. Crate training is a work in progress.
