Valentine is an extremely sweet and gentle puppy with a lovely temperament. She came to us with her left rear leg broken. The leg had been broken a month or more before we got her and had never been treated. The orthopedic vet said that it causes her little pain at this point and it just needs time to heal. While she's with us, she'll be assessed monthly to see if she will eventually need surgery. The vet said that she may heal fine on her own, or in a few months she may need to have it pinned. They can't do surgery now because she's still growing and surgery would affect her growth plates. Essentially its a wait-and-see situation. For those reasons, we're looking for someone who will give her a home in a foster-to-adopt situation. We'd like her to go to a forever family who will care for her now and forever, but she'd offically be in our foster program in case she needs surgery in a few months (which we'd cover). Will you give Valentine this chance? You may end up with lovely dog who is healthy in a few months, you may end up with a dog who needs surgery and time to recover, or you may end up with a dog who has a bit of a limp for life. Either way, you'll end up with one of the sweetest, most affectionate and gentle babies we've ever known. All you'd need to do is give her a place to live (with restricted exercise for a bit) while she gets time to heal.
